🚗 1. Ensure Safety First
Move your vehicle to a place where it will not obstruct traffic (if possible).
Turn on the hazard lights and place warning triangles (30 m in urban areas, 150 m outside the city).
Turn off the engine and do not smoke; be cautious of potential fuel leaks.
🚑 2. If There Are Injuries (Fatalities or Wounded)
In this situation, the required actions are clear and legally mandatory:
Call 112 Emergency Call Center.
Inform the police or gendarmerie (traffic accident notification).
Do not move the injured unless there is a risk of fire or explosion.
Provide information to the medical and law enforcement teams arriving at the scene.
In such accidents, vehicles cannot be moved without a traffic police report.
💰 3. If There Is Only Material Damage
If no one is injured:
Move the vehicles aside so they don’t block the traffic.
If an agreement can be reached with the other driver:
Fill out the Accident Report Form (required for traffic insurance).
Include the following in the report:
-
Date, time, location
-
Driver information
-
Vehicle license plates
-
Insurance details
Both drivers must sign the form.
Take photos of the scene and the damage (with license plates visible).
If there is no agreement or the other party does not accept fault:
Call the police or gendarmerie and request an official report.
📄 4. Insurance Procedures
Submit the accident report, photos, and ID/insurance documents to your insurance company.
Compulsory traffic insurance covers the damage of the other party if you are at fault.
If you have comprehensive insurance (casco), it can also cover your own vehicle’s damage.
⚠️ 5. Other Important Points
Leaving the scene or moving the vehicle (in accidents with injuries) is a crime.
If you are under the influence of alcohol or drugs, you must declare it.
For accidents involving foreign-plated vehicles, the Green Card Insurance applies.
Taking photos even in minor accidents helps prevent future disputes.
You must inform our call center within 12 hours at the latest regarding the incident.
